tea gifts.)

coffee gift certificates that can be printed at home and used to buy coffee from a number of roasters, including Klatch, Higher Ground, Verve, Barefoot and Zoka.
For the coffee connoisseur on your list,
Stumptown Coffee Roasters' Grand Cru coffees are well worth checking out.
Vivabox gift company offers a cool
"coffee talk" gift set, complete with Torani syrup and a jazz CD.
Zingerman's is known for quality, so I was thrilled when they introduced the
Zingerman's Coffee Club. They describe it as a "High quality caffeine addiction, delivered monthly." Gotta love it!
Hot Chocolate
What says "winter" better than hot chocolate? These premium drinking chocolates are sure to warm loved ones on your gift list.
MarieBelle Hot Chocolates come in four flavors: classic, dark, mocha and spicy. Just visiting their website makes me miss living in NYC and being able to visit their locations!
Vosges is a pioneer in avant garde chocolate. The
Vosges Drinking Chocolates are no exception -- they come in exotic flavors with unexpected ingredients like chipotle chillies, lemon myrtle and lavender. They may sound a little odd, but I assure you they're a foodie's delight.
Combination Gifts
Looking for a set that combines different hot drinks into one sippable set? Or perhaps you're looking for foods to pair with the coffee/tea/cocoa gift you've already selected. Here are a few highly giftable options:
Ugly Mug Tour combines
coffee, cocoa and chai in one gift set. For $6 to $10 more, you can throw in a mug or tumbler.
Foodzie makes it easy to create your own gift sets. Select from small, local suppliers who provide gourmet
hot chocolate,
coffee and
tea, and don't forget to check out their amazing foods, some of which are perfect for pairing with cocoa, coffee and tea.
(Disclaimer -- I have previously written copy for Foodzie.)
Another great source for giftable foods to pair with hot drinks is
Zingerman's. They are famed for their coffeecakes (they even offer a
coffeecake club) and other baked goods.

Coffee and trivia collide! Here are some fun coffee facts to enjoy over your next cuppa:
The Oatmeal recently put out this great
coffee comic that's brimming with fun coffee facts. It also contains a piece of commonly accepted misinformation. Coffee isn't really the second-most traded commodity... but it's a popular enough myth that many sources say it is. Don't hold it against them! It's still a fantastic comic.
CocoaJava put together a cute collection of
fun coffee facts. Here's a sample: "Turkish bridegrooms were once required to make a promise during their wedding ceremonies to always provide their new wives with coffee. If they failed to do so, it was grounds for divorce! (Ouch!)"
Here's a cool
history of coffee in America that includes facts like, "American soldiers were so used to drinking coffee several times a day when they were overseas (that they) also consumed great amounts of coffee when they returned to the United States. Coffee houses became the new place to socialize."
Gourmet Coffee Zone came up with a sizable list of
coffee statistics and facts, some of which are quite fascinating. One of my favorites reminds me of a recent article in
Fresh Cup Magazine about coffee in Japan -- "In Japan, over 10,000 coffee cafes called 'Kissaten' serve the consumer demand in just Tokyo alone. Japan is the third highest coffee consuming nation in the world today."
Oishi! (That's Japanese for "delicious.")
The
National Coffee Association has all kind of cool coffee facts on their website. There, you can read about topics ranging from
coffee production in the Americas to
the value of coffee to the
history of coffee around the world.
What are your favorite blogs and sites for reading more about coffee?
