There are many herbs and spices that have been added to coffee and tea across continents and centuries. Most can also be infused or boiled on their own to make tisanes (a.k.a. "herbal teas").
If you'd like to learn more about some of these herbs and spices (such as chicory, star anise and lavender), check out this growing glossary of spices and herbs for drinks. It includes definitions of each herb / spice, photos, recipes for using each spice / herb and more. Recent additions to the glossary include definitions of cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Enjoy!
