South Beach Diet
During all three phases of the South Beach diet, you should use artificial sweetener and low-fat milk in your coffee or tea. Since the objective of this diet is to maintain an even insulin level, you should also switch to caffeine-free. If you only drink a cup or two a day, it probably won't scuttle your weight loss if you keep your caffeine.

The Zone Diet
Similiar issues as with the South Beach Diet. Coffee and tea are allowed, but you might want to switch to caffeine-free to keep your insulin from spiking. Use artificial sweetener and low-fat milk, if you are eating in the Zone.

Atkins Diet
The Atkins Diet is another low-carb variety of diet, and so the same restrictions apply as with the Zone and South Beach diets. Coffee and tea are OK as long as you don't use sugar. Artificial sweeteners are a better choice to keep your carbs down.

Blood Type Diet
Finally, a diet plan not based on reducing carbs. The blood type diet restricts or allows foods based on your blood type. Coffee is beneficial for types A and AB, but should be avoided if your blood type is O. Green teas are fine for all blood types, but black tea should be eliminated from your diet no matter what your blood type. Sweeteners of any sort (sugar, honey, stevia, maple syrup) are acceptable for all blood types.

Sugar Busters
I'm sure the name "Sugar Busters" makes this one self-explanitory. Coffee and tea are fine, but you can't use sugar or honey for sweetening. Artificial sweeteners only.

Paleolithic Diet
This eating plan is also called the Stone Age diet, or the Neanderthal diet. Its based on simple and unprocessed foods that our stone age ancestors would have eaten. If you are following the Paleolithic diet, you will have to give up coffee altogether, but you are allowed to drink tea (both green and black). If you choose to drink tea, you shouldn't use refined sugar either.
