Contrary to popular opinion, some teas taste better without any milk and sugar added.

Definition: A 'self drinker' is a tea that tastes good (or even best) without milk and / or sugar added. The term 'self drinker' almost always applies to black teas.

With the Indian meaning for "black tea" / red tea, it is more accurate to say that it refers to a tea that is better as a black / red tea than as a milk tea.

Most Keemun / Qimen red teas, Yunnan red teas, Darjeeling black teas are self drinkers. Some Assam black teas and Ceylon teas are also self drinkers.
Also Known As: unsweetened tea, liquor tea
