Ritter Sport Cappuccino

German chocolatier Ritter Sport is known for its colorful, square packaging and its flavors, including European favorites like cappuccino, yogurt and cornflakes. Available in many specialty markets and even upscale convenience stores in the United States, Ritter Sport has brought many better quality chocolates (including their even-popular Cappuccino Bar) to the masses.

Ritter Sport Cappuccino has an aroma like a great mocha cappuccino. It's rich and creamy, with a balance of coffee and chocolate scents.

Unlike some coffee chocolates, which have just a hint of coffee flavor, this chocolate bar's flavor is dominated by cappuccino and backed with a nutty milk chocolate taste. It's got some sweetness, but it's well balanced and far from being too sweet.

The finish is smooth, with rich coffee notes.

This coffee chocolate would pair especially well with black coffee (especially Colombian, Kenyan, Sumatran, Yemeni, Ethiopian or Kona coffee), with an unsweetened cappuccino or with hazelnut coffee.

Unlike some American chocolates, it is divided into bite-sized segments, making it easier to consume smaller portions. Given that it has three servings per bar, with 15 grams of fat per serving, I would especially recommend sharing this bar or spreading it out into multiple snacks. If you tend to eat healthier when presented with treats in smaller portions or in smaller pieces, then this is a fantastic coffee chocolate for you. However, if you're the type to throw serving suggestions to the wind and eat a whole bag of chips, I'd suggest shying away from Ritter Sport Cappuccino.

Ritter Sport Cappuccino's price and availability make it a convenient treat for the masses of Americans who love coffee and chocolate. Personally, I found it to be deliciously decadent, especially for the price point.
