A glass of mint green tea surrounded by fresh mint leaves

Fresh mint leaves add a burst of flavor to this iced green tea recipe.

This iced tea recipe is different from many iced mint tea recipes in that it has a base of green tea instead of black tea. Green tea gives it a fresher, brighter, more vegetal flavor than black tea would.

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Cook Time: 3 minutes

Total Time: 6 minutes

Yield: Two servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp. loose-leaf green tea (such as Kukicha, Gunpowder Green Tea or Hojicha)
  • About 10 chopped, fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup simmering water
  • 1 tsp. agave nectar or honey (or sweeten to taste)
  • 1.5 cups ice

Preparation:

Steep the green tea and mint leaves for three minutes, then strain them out. Add sweetener and stir well. Pour over ice in two glasses and serve immediately.
