3. Krups xp4000 Espresso Machine

So automatic, it practically runs itself. The XP4000 has pump-generated pressure, heats up fast, filters the water to reduce mineral deposits, is pod-adaptable, and is specially designed to produce thick crema every time. You can also use this machine to produce just hot water, for other hot drinks. Price: around $200

4. Saeco Vienna

You'll always get fresh espresso, because you grind the beans right in the machine. There are simple controls, and you can adjust the volume to go from a shot of espresso right up to a full cup of coffee. It doesn't get much easier. Price: around $450

8. Nespresso Le Cube Automatic Espresso Machine

I always love funky looking coffee equipment, especially in red. The Nespresso Le Cube does use capsules (like pods) specifically for this machine, not plain ground coffee. But don't let that limitation scare you. The finished espresso is excellent. Price: around $299
