Definition: Ali Shan (a.k.a. 'Alishan' or 'A Li Shan') is a high-elevation tea-producing region in south-central Taiwan. It produces hand-rolled oolongs known simply as Alishan Oolongs and complex Four Season Oolongs, when are best brewed gong fu style. Ali SHan's teas are known for being light and floral.

The most famous tea growing sub-regions of Ali Shan are Zhong Shu Hu and Shi Zuo. Tea-growing elevations in Ali Shan range from 1000 meters to 2300 meters.
