Definition: Artisanal tea (a.k.a. "connoisseur's tea" or "collector's tea") is tea that is produced by a highly skilled artisan. It is often produced mostly or entirely by hand and is usually available only is small batches. True artisanal tea is rare outside of countries of origin. They may be traditionally produced or experimental (using unconventional processing techniques or varietals). Artisanal teas often win awards for their flavor profiles and quality.
