Definition: Li Shan (a.k.a. Lishan or 'Pear Mountain') is a high-elevation tea-producing region slightly to the northeast of central Taiwan. Li Shan's elevations range from 1600 meters to 2600 meters, making it the highest elevation tea growing area in Taiwan.
Li Shan produces Oolong teas that often fetch very high prices on the market. They are noted for their ethereal, fruity, floral, tropical aromas and flavors.
Li Shan is sometimes confused with A Li Shan (Alishan), which is a separate tea-producing region in Taiwan.
