Rishi Tea's Earl Grey is a blend of Yunnan black tea and bergamot essential oil.

Marko Goodwin
Rishi Tea's Organic Earl Grey was shade-grown in a biodiverse plot of ancient tea trees. Like Rishi's Ancient Emerald Lily Green Tea it is USDA-certified organic, Fair Trade and produced by Yunnan's ethnic minority. It's also delicious.

Appearance

Rishi's Organic Earl Grey comes in a reusable, double-lidded white tin. The packaging is informative, attractive and clearly labeled.

The tealeaves are large and bluish-black.

Brewed, the tea is a deep, muted copper color.

Tasting Notes

Aroma -- wonderfully full citrusy aroma with spicy, woodsy and floral undertones
Flavor -- very citrusy, smooth and mellow with a tinge of mint
Overall Flavor Profile -- much milder and mellower than most Earl Grey teas

Recommendations

This is a great Earl Grey for those who prefer not to add anything to their brews. It has a mellow Yunnan tea base, low astringency and a full (but not overpowering) citrus flavor. It's ideal for pairing with brunch foods and afternoon tea fare.
