A moist and soft bread, rich with chocolate and chocolate chips. If that's not enough chocolate for you, you can spread a slice with
Chocolate Butter as well.
Ingredients:
- 4 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Preparation:
Melt chocolate in a small saucepan. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, beating well after each one. Add vanilla and milk, then beat in melted chocolate. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add to the chocolate mixture. Stir until just moistened. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour batter into a 9x5x3 loaf pan, and bake at 350F for about an hour.
