Ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tbs baking powder
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 sticks butter
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups quick oats, uncooked
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbs sugar
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 425F. Mix together flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture is like large crumbs. Stir in chocolate and oats. Save aside 2 tbs of beaten egg. Add the rest of the egg and the heavy cream to the dry ingredients. Roll dough out onto floured surface, and roll to 1/2-inch thick. Cut into 2-inch diamonds. Brush with left-over egg and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 10 minutes or until scones are golden brown.Makes 36 scones
