Guide Review - Lipton's Tea to Go
Lipton's Tea to Go is a very handy little idea. Small narrow packets of iced tea powder, designed to be added to bottled water. One pouch of mix per 500mL bottle. How easy is that? There are a few flavours available so far, and the ones I tested were honey & lemon green tea, and raspberry white tea. Overall, I found the powder mixed and dissolved quickly with a few shakes of my bottle of water.
Honey & Lemon Green Tea
This tea was very sweet and had a very strong lemon flavour. The underlying hint of honey was a nice compliment. Though it overall had a general taste of "iced tea", I really couldn't taste any actual green tea whatsoever.
Raspberry White Tea
I can't help thinking that this flavour should make the water pink. It was green, just like the green tea variety. The taste is raspberry, but that was all. Granted, white tea is very subtle to begin with. It sounds exotic on the package, though it really adds nothing to the taste.
This is a great idea for a portable beverage, but it lacks any decent tea flavour. Not much different from most bottled ice teas.
Also, be aware that not all bottled water comes in 500mL sizes. If your bottle of water is too large, your resulting iced tea will be weak.
